Pierre Ferland
President

Pierre Ferland co-founded Maestro Group in 2001. He has built a solid reputation as a brilliant real estate asset manager and a shrewd investor in the Canadian retirement residence industry. He has more than 26 years of experience in the world of real estate, including over 24 years specifically in the retirement residence industry. He is a charismatic and dynamic president with outstanding entrepreneurial skills. His passion for the well-being of elderly people inspired him to create the three businesses that now operate under the Maestro Group name.
As a result of his leadership and vision, the company has quickly climbed the ranks of our industry – starting with just a few employees and building a team of more than 2,500 today, and working with just one investor initially to having 18 investment partners today. Mr. Ferland holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Sherbrooke, and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA).
 

François Courtois
Vice President, Operations

Vice President of Operations at Allegro Residences since May 2006, François Courtois established the strategic positioning of operations for Maestro Group and is responsible for overseeing the management of financial, material and human resources. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations as well as in Finance, Mr. Courtois also has acquired extensive management experience in operations and procurement for both national and multinational corporations in the manufacturing, distribution and service industries. Since joining Allegro, Mr. Courtois quickly formed a highly competent management team and has earned a reputation as a manager who is focused on action and operational efficiency. A seasoned operations expert who is appreciated for his keen business sense, he has been a key player in the design and implementation of the company’s decentralized management structure.
 

Catherine Chevalier
Chief Financial Officer

Catherine Chevalier joined Maestro Group in 2004 and holds the position of Chief Financial Officer. She is closely involved in the establishment and execution of Maestro Group’s strategic planning, the management of the financing strategy, and the optimization and protection of the group’s financial resources and assets. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting Sciences from the University of Quebec at Montreal and is a member of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. Over the course of her 15-year career in finance, Ms. Chevalier has worked on in-house auditing and taxation mandates in addition to real estate; this experience has contributed significantly to her deep skills and expertise in real estate financing. A dedicated and highly respected manager, she headed the creation of the portfolio planning and management team, in addition to leading the group’s legal division. Moreover, she also oversees the information technology division, and accordingly, the innovative income-generating projects that have significantly contributed to the company’s profitability.
 

Louise Marcoux
Vice President, Human Resources
 

Louise Marcoux has worked as Vice President of Human Resources and Communications at Allegro Residences since 2004. She has more than 25 years of experience in human resources, specifically in organizational development, labour relations and management. As a manager who is at the centre of Maestro Group’s business decisions, Ms. Marcoux’s mandate significantly extends beyond the boundaries of the human resources division. She is a strategic partner in the group’s development, and an individual who is committed to the growth of the company and the industry as a whole. Ms. Marcoux has founded two separate industry associations: one for HR specialists from a variety of fields, and the other for HR Vice Presidents working specifically at companies in the Quebec retirement residence industry. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations at the University of Montreal, and since then has worked in industries as diverse as finance, transport, engineering consulting and services.
 

Daniel Moisan
Vice President, Investments and Asset Management

A managing partner since the creation of Maestro Group, Daniel Moisan is an experienced professional in investments and asset management. He has invaluable experience in the real estate industry and in the operations of retirement residences. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, and, prior to his current role, he occupied a variety of positions within the investment units at Maestro Group. A manager with an impressive track record, Mr. Moisan has participated in the acquisition and organization of each residence in the Allegro network. Having created the asset management position within the company, he laid the foundation for the department’s operations and continues today to oversee the company’s investment strategies and technical services.
